SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) – Exam Pattern:

A. Tier I – Preliminary Examination

  • Computer-Based Test (Objective Type)
  • Sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Total Marks: 200
  • Qualifying in nature

B. Tier II – Main Examination

  • Computer-Based Test (Objective Type)
  • Papers include:
    1. Quantitative Abilities
    2. English Language and Comprehension
    3. Statistics (for certain posts)
    4. General Studies (Finance & Economics) – for AAO post
  • Duration: 2 hours per paper
  • Marks vary by paper

C. Tier III – Descriptive Paper

  • Pen-and-paper mode (Essay/Letter/Application Writing)
  • Medium: English or Hindi
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Marks: 100

D. Tier IV – Skill/Computer Proficiency Test

  • Required for specific posts
  • Includes Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)
